Babies babies everywhere!

30 May

When do you know if you have reached past a certain stage of your life.

Have just attended my friend’s son full-month celebration. My cousin just gave birth to her angel couple of days back AND another friend of mine is giving birth this weekend. This is definitely a month of abundance! My friend commented that we should count back to see which month was so boring. ha!

Not only babies. But also wedding bells are ringing. A couple of my friends of my age have gotten and are in plans of marriage. Truely I rejoice with them as they are onto another stage of their lives. Pure happiness for them, perhaps with a slight pinch of envy.

BKK (Day2&3)

29 May

Follow-up from where I ended on my previous BKK post.

DAY 2.

Similarly, we ate breakfast at the hotel before heading out!
Went in search of Naraya! At Siam Square. It’s a 10-15mins walk from our hotel.

Taking some touristy-photo on the way there! See my new “Cath Kidston” trolley bag I bought from CTC Market! (~SGD50) for such a pretty bag! <3 <3 <3 and YES! I whacked some really pretty Naraya Bags! (~sgd90 for 7 bags or so) And so did my 3 girlfriends! We went on a shopping frenzy there! ha! Even had to head back to dump over loots at the room before heading out!

Chunky Cream of Mushroom Soup!

29 May

Always have been a GREAT fan of cream of mushroom soup! I just love Mushrooms!

My sweet colleague was so nice to make them and treat all of us to warm Cream Of Mushroom (COM) soup for breakfast in the office! Very yummy! I was so inspired by her to start making my own too. Just need her recipe of how-tos. Her recipe sounds simple enough for me to wanna try making on my own.

I went online to check out the recipes for chunky COM soup and there were so many different recipes, some with wine and so many stuff. I decided to stick to my fren’s recipe and just do a little improvisation from there on.

Recipe to Michy’s COM soup (Using the simplest ingredients!):

  • 3 types of Mushrooms were used (3x Portobello, 6x Fresh Shiitake, 6x Button)
  • Chicken stock (a large bowl; ~500-600ml)
  • 1x teaspoon of butter
  • 1/4 cup milk (Used meiji full cream)
  • 1-2 cloves of Garlic

Post-BKK (Day 1!)

14 May

First trip to BKK at the age of 27! Oh boy! I know I’m such a sua-ku/mountain tortoise! :P

Finally, I did manage one trip with my fabulous girl-friends! Fully planned, scheduled, bookings all done by them! All I need to do was bring my passport and show up at the airport! Full of apprehension in the beginning as this is probably the first trip I’m headed somewhere without any preparation. My trips in the past 7 years were all fully planned by me, myself and I. Malaysia, Indonesia, USA, Japan.

Alas, where have my spirit of adventure gone to!! Guess I’m pretty much a control freak on my own.
Paid close to SG$500 for flight (Jetstar) + 3N Accommodation @Novotel Siam.
Took with me (Baht $14,540/SGD600) for food and shopping!

On board the Jetstar flight, pretty normal flight with expected-not-so-wide seats but at least the flight was smooth. Nothing much to rave or complain about. Perhaps the only good thing was the nice staff at Jetstar BKK which waived our excess baggage of 8kg (Combined excess for all 4 ladies’ luggage) on our return trip. Wee~

Jer’s HUGE luggage, Me and Coco!
